Our Dome

You need  space for  office or storage - a school or church?  Consider this low cost  membrane ready to be inflated to form a 213 diameter building. Domes are economical to build and very cost efficient to cool and heat.

PVC membrane suitable for constructing a 213' diameter x 72' high dome. Style: 80-28 "Shelter-Rite", Manufactured by Seaman Corporation Industrial Fabric Division, Wooster, Ohio.

Material Thickness: 1.2mm (0.05). Seam Overlap approx 2".

Test results as of April 17, 2000 as tested by Seaman Corporation Laboratory.

Coated Weight (ASTM D751) 27.9 oz per sq. yard

Strip Tensile (ASTM D751) 559 lbs./in

Flame Resistance Method 5903 FTMS 191 had to put the flame out

Color: DC-146 Eggshell 

This membrane was originally designed for the construction of a 35,000 square foot church - plans may be available. Method of construction is to inflate the membrane and spray Shotcrete on the interior to build up a thickness of 6" at the bottom and 2" at the top of the dome. Appropriate reinforcing would be applied during the process.
